Sports Premium
Every young person deserves the chance to lead a healthy, active lifestyle. Positive early experiences with sport and physical activity can encourage habits that last a lifetime.
Being physically active offers many advantages for children and young people, supporting not only their physical health but also their mental wellbeing. It can boost self-confidence, improve emotional health, and reduce feelings of anxiety and depression. Active children are often happier, more resilient, and better able to build trusting relationships with others. Providing regular opportunities for daily activity can also benefit schools more broadly, contributing to better behaviour and improved academic performance.
Schools are responsible for how they use the PE and Sport Premium funding they receive. This funding should be used solely for its intended purpose: to create meaningful and lasting improvements in the quality of physical education, sport, and physical activity provision.
In 2024/2025, St Anne's received £19,313 Sport Premium Funding and for this academic year, our allocation was £20,993.

Swimming
At St Anne's, we recognise swimming as an essential life skill that supports both safety and confidence in and around water. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to develop strong swimming abilities and an understanding of water safety by the end of Key Stage 2. Swimming not only promotes physical health, but also builds resilience and independence. Below is a summary of our Year 6 swimming attainment, demonstrating how effectively we support pupils in reaching these important outcomes.
